Description
Decadent no-bake bars made with coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and chocolate—perfect for a quick dessert, snack, or edible gift idea.
Ingredients
Basic Ingredients
-
2½ cups unsweetened shredded coconut
-
¾ cup sweetened condensed milk (about half a 14 oz can)
-
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chunks
Optional Add-Ons (For Variations)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract (for flavor depth)
-
Whole almonds (for an Almond Joy-style twist)
-
Pinch of sea salt (to enhance flavor)
-
1 tbsp coconut oil (for smoother chocolate coating)
Instructions
Step 1: Mix the Coconut Base
-
In a medium mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk.
-
Stir until the mixture becomes thick and sticky. Every coconut shred should be coated.
Step 2: Shape the Bars
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Scoop out heaping tablespoons of the mixture and form into small rectangular bars or oval mounds (about 2 inches long).
-
Place each formed bar onto the parchment-lined tray.
Step 3: Chill
-
Place the tray in the freezer for 20–30 minutes, or until the bars are firm. This helps them hold shape during chocolate dipping.
Step 4: Melt the Chocolate
-
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. You can also use a double boiler if preferred.
-
Optional: Stir in coconut oil for extra shine and a smoother coating.
Step 5: Dip the Bars
-
Remove the bars from the freezer.
-
Using two forks, dip each coconut bar into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
-
Place dipped bars back onto the parchment-lined tray.
