Ingredients
  

For the Fritters
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples Can use Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith apples.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Creating the Batter
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy.
  4. Gently fold in the diced apples.
Baking to Perfection
  1. Drop portions of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each fritter.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
The Finishing Touch
  1. Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over warm fritters.

Notes

For optimal freshness, store cooled fritters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerate for up to five days. Fritters can be frozen without glaze for up to three months.
