  • 1 loaf Baguette or ciabatta bread Crusty bread works best for this recipe.
  • 2 cups Diced ripe tomatoes Use the freshest tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped fresh basil Delicious and aromatic!
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar Adds acidity and brightness.
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil For drizzling.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven for toasting bread.
  2. Slice the baguette or ciabatta into thick pieces.
  3. Toast the bread slices in the oven until golden and crispy.
  4. In a bowl, mix together diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, salt, and balsamic vinegar.
  5. Let the tomato mixture sit for about 10 minutes for flavors to meld.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread slices just before serving.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and serve immediately.

Notes

To keep the bruschetta crispy, store the topping separately from the toasted bread if making ahead of time. Consider adding cheese for extra richness. Serve while warm.
