Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or use a baking dish.
- Slice the loaf lengthwise in half, or make deep cuts across the top for a pull-apart style.
- Mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly over both halves, getting into the cuts if you made them.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top, press the cheese slightly into the bread.
Baking
- Place the halves on the baking sheet, cheese side up. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese melts and the top is golden.
- For a crispier top, switch the oven to broil for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
Serving
- Let cool for 2 to 3 minutes, slice if needed, then serve warm.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easy mixing and spreading. Grate your own cheese if possible, it melts better than pre-shredded cheese. Mix in garlic powder for extra flavor. Adjust cheese types for personal taste.
