  • 1 lb ground beef Cooked and drained
  • 2 cups rice Uncooked
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups cheese Shredded, divided
Vegetable Additions
  • 1 cup chopped onions Optional
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers Optional
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes Optional for heat

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
  3. If using, add chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until soft.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with rice, cream of mushroom soup, and 1 cup of cheese. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese on top is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can customize the casserole with your favorite vegetables or spices. Leftovers can be refrigerated or frozen for later use.
