Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups diced potatoes Use a mix of different types for more flavor and texture.
  • 14 oz smoked sausage Choose high-quality sausage for richer flavors.
  • 1 pkg ranch seasoning mix Adds a delicious twist to the dish.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Use a mix of cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack for an extra cheesy experience.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For coating the potatoes and sausage.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Chop the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Optionally, soak them in water for a few minutes to promote faster cooking.
  3. Slice the smoked sausage into rounds.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the diced potatoes and sausage with olive oil and ranch seasoning until well coated.
Cooking
  1. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sausage is browned, stirring halfway through.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and serve.

Notes

This dish works great as a main meal or as a hearty side. Consider garnishing with fresh parsley or green onions. Serve with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables for contrast, and a dollop of sour cream can complement the dish well.
