  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is preferred.
  • 1 medium onion Diced.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 4 cups chicken broth Use vegetable broth for a vegan option.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.

Preparation
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  4. Stir in broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Add orzo pasta and let it simmer, covered, for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once orzo is cooked through, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Serving
  1. Plate directly from the skillet for easy cleanup.
  2. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, or fresh herbs.
  3. Serve hot or allow to cool slightly for lunch.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze in smaller portions. Reheat thoroughly, adding broth if necessary.
