Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups all purpose flour Spoon and level the flour for accuracy.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs Beaten.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter or oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon For sprinkling on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet mix into the dry mix, stirring until just combined. Do not over mix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  2. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out to a rack.
Finishing Touches
  1. Brush the top and sides with melted butter while warm, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mix over the bread so it sticks.
  2. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra swirl, fold a tablespoon of cinnamon sugar into the batter before baking. If the top browns too fast, cover with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the fridge.
