Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, then add vanilla extract, sugar, and egg.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
- For the espresso swirl, mix cocoa powder, brewed espresso, and sugar in a small bowl until smooth.
- Pour half of the banana bread batter into the loaf pan.
- Drizzle half of the espresso mixture over it, then repeat with the remaining batter and espresso.
- Using a knife, gently swirl the espresso mixture into the batter.
Baking
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool for a bit before slicing, and enjoy!
Notes
Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing for neat cuts. Top with powdered sugar or serve alongside fresh fruit for added appeal.
