  • 4 cups fresh mulberries Use ripe, fresh mulberries for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust sweetness according to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
For the Oat Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup flour All-purpose flour works well.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter Melted for mixing.

Preparation
  1. Gather your ingredients: fresh mulberries, rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mulberries, sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until well-coated.
  4. In another bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spread the mulberry mixture into a baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the oat mixture on top.
  3. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Serving
  1. Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Make sure your mulberries are fresh and ripe. You can substitute other berries if mulberries are not available. Adjust sweetness of the filling to your taste. Don’t skip melting the butter for the topping to achieve a crunchy texture.
