Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
- Add in the cold cubed butter and blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gently fold in the cranberries and orange zest until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream and egg until smooth.
- Add the sour cream mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- On a floured surface, turn the dough out and shape it into a circle about 1-inch thick.
- Cut the dough into wedges and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve with powdered sugar, clotted cream, or honey. For a festive touch, add fresh orange slices or whole cranberries as garnish.
