Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese Use freshly shredded cheese for best results.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • a pinch salt and pepper Adjust to taste.
  • chopped fresh parsley Optional, for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the shredded cheese with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture and place it on the baking sheet, leaving space between each scoop. Flatten each scoop slightly into a square shape with the back of a spoon.
Baking
  1. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and the cheese looks bubbly and crisp.
  2. Let the squares cool on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish crisping.
Serving
  1. Garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use sharp cheddar for better flavor. Shred your cheese fresh for best melting. Bake until golden, but watch for burning. Store in an airtight container for up to 1-2 days.
