  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can use panko for extra crunch.
  • 2 pieces eggs Whisked for coating.

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing the onions into rings.
  2. In one bowl, whisk the eggs and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the flour in another bowl, and the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Dip each onion ring first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the breadcrumbs. Coat them well.
Cooking
  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the coated onion rings until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider baking the onion rings in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
