Preparation
- Start by slicing the onions into rings.
- In one bowl, whisk the eggs and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the flour in another bowl, and the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dip each onion ring first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the breadcrumbs. Coat them well.
Cooking
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the coated onion rings until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider baking the onion rings in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
