Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
- Slice the loaf in half lengthwise, open it like a book, or cut into thick slices without cutting all the way through.
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly on the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle mozzarella over the butter, then add Parmesan on top for extra flavor.
- Place the bread on the baking sheet, cheese side up.
Baking
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the edges are golden.
- For a crisp, brown top, put the bread under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes. Watch closely so it does not burn.
- Let cool for a minute, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easier mixing, and consider grating your own cheese for the best melt and flavor. Don’t skip the broil step for a golden, bubbly top.
