  • 1 loaf 1 loaf of challah or brioche Stale bread works best for better soaking.
  • 6 pieces 6 eggs
  • 2 cups 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes, ensuring they are well soaked.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the custard.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly crispy.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use stale bread for optimal soaking. If preparing the night before, assemble and refrigerate overnight, then bake in the morning without prior warming.
