Ingredients
  

For the Lasagna
  • 9 noodles 9 lasagna noodles Use no-boil noodles if preferred.
  • 2 cups 2 cups of cottage cheese Can substitute with ricotta cheese for richer taste.
  • 1 large 1 egg Used to bind the cottage cheese mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of garlic powder For added flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of dried oregano For seasoning.
  • 3 cups 3 cups of marinara sauce Fresh marinara sauce recommended.
  • 2 cups 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese Reserve some for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Mix well.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  4. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles.
  5. Add another layer of marinara sauce, and then sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers: add 3 more noodles, the other half of the cottage cheese mixture, more sauce, and 1 cup of mozzarella.
  7. Top with the final 3 noodles, more marinara sauce, and a sprinkle of remaining mozzarella cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Allow lasagna to rest for 10 minutes after baking for easier slicing.
