Method

Preparation
  1. Start with a base mix of cereal squares, mini pretzels, nuts, and cheese crackers.
  2. Choose five flavor combos: sweet cinnamon, spicy chili lime, savory garlic herb, cheesy ranch, and chocolate peanut.
  3. Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  4. In a large bowl, toss base with melted butter or oil to help the seasoning stick.
Flavoring
  1. For sweet cinnamon, mix sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt, then toss with the base.
  2. For spicy chili lime, mix chili powder, lime zest, and a little sugar, then toss.
  3. For garlic herb, combine garlic powder, parsley, and onion powder, then toss.
  4. For cheesy ranch, mix the dry ranch mix with grated cheese, then toss.
  5. For chocolate peanut, melt chocolate, stir in peanuts, drizzle, and coat the base.
Baking
  1. Spread each flavored mix on separate baking sheets in a single layer.
  2. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  3. Cool completely on the tray before storing.
  4. Taste and adjust flavors with salt or sugar if needed.

Notes

Use low heat when baking to maintain crunch. Stir once during baking. Allow the mix to cool fully before storing. Store in airtight containers for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage. Label each jar to avoid confusion.
