Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups Pecan halves
  • 0.75 cups Brown sugar
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 cups Corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) Yellow cake mix
  • 0.75 cups Unsalted butter (melted)
Optional Ingredients
  • 0.5 tsp Cinnamon Optional
  • 0.5 cups Chocolate chips Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Layer the pecans on the bottom of the dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt. Pour over pecans.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top, don’t stir.
  5. Drizzle melted butter all over the dry mix. Make sure most of it is covered.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use real butter for the best flavor. Don’t overbake; the center should be slightly gooey. Cover with foil halfway if the top browns too quickly.
