Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before preparing.
  • 1/2 cup pepper jelly Adjust the amount for desired sweetness and spiciness.
Optional Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions For added flavor and presentation.
  • 1/4 cup crumbled bacon Adds a crunchy texture.
  • 2 tablespoons toasted nuts Use your choice of nuts, such as pecans or walnuts.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start with a block of cream cheese softened at room temperature for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  2. Place the cream cheese in a small bowl and beat it with a fork or small whisk until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spoon pepper jelly over the cream cheese, using about a half cup for an 8-ounce block.
  4. Smooth the jelly over the top or leave a swirl to display the colors.
  5. Optionally, fold in a few spoonfuls of jelly into the cream cheese for a mixed dip, but do not overmix.
  6. Add toppings if desired, such as green onions, bacon, or nuts.
  7. Chill the dip for 15 to 30 minutes to firm up slightly for easier spreading.
Serving
  1. Serve with crackers, bagel chips, pita chips, or raw vegetables.
  2. Keep leftovers in the fridge for a few days, covered tightly.

Notes

Always soften the cream cheese for the best texture. You can use low fat cream cheese, but it will be thinner. For a cleaner look, add jelly on top just before serving.
