  • 2 cups diced potatoes

  • 2 cups fresh shellfish (clams or mussels) Ensure they are fresh and tightly closed before cooking.

  1. Gather all your ingredients.

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the onions, celery, and garlic until soft.
  2. Add diced potatoes and pour in the chicken broth. Let simmer until the potatoes are tender.
  3. Add the fresh shellfish and cover the pot. Cook until the shells open up, about a few minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Cook for a few more minutes to thicken the chowder.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, and enjoy!

Notes

Tips for Success: Make sure the shellfish is fresh. Play with your ingredients by adding corn, carrots, or herbs. For a thicker chowder, mash some potatoes or add cornstarch mixed with water.
