  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar For sweetness.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Or use a 1:1 gluten-free blend.
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking powder Gives it the lift.
  • 3/4 tsp salt Balances out the sweetness.
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon The soul of the dessert.
Gooey Magic
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed For molasses richness.
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water Soaks in to create the molten center.
Final Sprinkle
  • 1/4 cup sugar For the top sprinkle.
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon For that signature snickerdoodle crackle.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and pour melted butter into a 9×13 baking dish, swirling to coat the bottom.
Making the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla, and sugar. Fold in flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until just combined.
Assembling
  1. Pour the batter gently over the butter without mixing. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the batter and slowly pour hot water over everything.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden and slightly cracked, with the center still jiggling.
Finishing Touch
  1. Mix cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle over the top, and let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
