Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F, and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with a little oil or nonstick spray.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of the dish to stop the ravioli from sticking.
- Place a single layer of frozen ravioli on the sauce. Keep them in one even layer.
- Spoon another cup of sauce over the ravioli, spread a third of the mozzarella on top, and sprinkle a little Parmesan and some Italian seasoning.
- Add a second layer of ravioli, pour the remaining sauce over them, and top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan.
Baking
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
- Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving, then garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
For a richer bake, stir 1 cup ricotta with an egg and dollop between layers. If you like more herbs, add fresh chopped basil into the sauce before baking.
